    Hello

i had a topic about my CSS error

    that it always shuts down

    But

i think my problim is with the CPU

because when i try to run any programs it suddenly jumps to 100%

    My CPU isIntel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz

    Motherboard:
    CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 3200 MHz (16 x 200)
    Motherboard Name Unknown
    Motherboard Chipset VIA P4M800 Pro
    System Memory 1536 MB
    BIOS Type AMI (05/23/05)
    Communication Port Communications Port (COM1)
Communication Port ECP Printer Port (LPT1)

so my Motherboard Chipset is VIA P4M800 Pro

and i just searched it in google shopping and its 40$

    LoL

    so

is My CPU good and i dont have to change it and the problim is with the old cheap motherboard?

or My CPU is Crappy and My old cheap motherboard is the same?

    THX Guys

Your CPU surely isn't that bad. Your motherboard however, needs some help.
If your CPU has a 478-socket i wouldnt bother getting a motherboard for it because theyre all pretty crappy at this point - trust me on that one. I would just get a good bundle (motherboard+CPU) for a low price.
If your CPU has a LGA 775-socket, you could motherboards like this one:
    http://http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135064

Supports a good PCI-Express graphics card if you plan on gaming, and allows you to add up to 4GB of ram.
Another note, you should definitely add atleast 2GB of ram if possible.

    aha

    thank u very much

    i have 478 socket

so the problim is that my CPU's sockets are Low

and i should get a new one

    but is it tht bad?

so the cpu usage always jumps to 100% because my sockets r 478?

    thx for helping

and by the way... what processor do u recommend for gaming...amd athlon 64 x2?

No there really isn't such a thing as a "low" CPU socket. A socket type doesn't necessarily determine the CPU's speed. Its quite the other way around. Faster CPU's have newer sockets such as the LGA 775 for INTEL or an AM2 for AMD.
What i meant was that a CPU with a 478 socket, such as yours, will only fit in a motherboard that supports 478-socket CPU's and these motherboards really suck these days. They don't support much memory, they have low FSB speeds... and many many more factors to list :x:
Again nothing to do with the socket it might be that you run programs that require too much memory and you only have 1.5GB of RAM (its pretty low unfortunately). And although your CPU isn't that bad it still isn't great.

NOW WERE TALKIN BOY! Those are pretty nice for games and there are also many good motherboards for them. If your willing to add a few more bucks you can get an Intel Core 2 Duo such as the one below since its better than the Athlon:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2

    Intel Core 2 Duo
