How Did You Come To HWF?

Incase you have'nt noticed, i've been really bored lately so that's why i've posted about 6 threads in the General Chat section lately!

But, would you care to explain how you came to be a member here @ HardwareForums?
Me, i found it through google and i'm still here

 

I was bored one day, so i typed randomly www.hardwareforums.com into my address bar. And thus Addis of HWFs was born.

 

Sniper e-mailed me after seeing my website on GeoCities. At the time there was another site that I was about to start writing reviews for, but I bailed on them and went with Sniper. Good thing, as that site went kaput eventually. This was before we were HWF, but TechWareNet. The name change was good as TWN tended to confuse people typing it in the address bar.

 

I think addis referred me.

 

I needed help with my computer so I went on one of my other computers and typed in an address I remembered a friend had told me about, lo and behold, I came to HWF.

 

I googled for 'hardware forums'

If you try, you'll see that the third one is...... you guessed it!

I went through the two other forums which could not help a problem I had.

This was by far the most supportive forum I have been to.

Who actualy started this form? I owe you a big thank you.....

To paraphrase Kevin Costner, they built it so I came. The domain name being kickass might have also had something to do with it.

I originally showed up for peer advice on my wife's motherboard that was going bad. I liked the community here so much I started posting regularly, and here we are. It's nice working alongside people who actually know what they're talking about, and to emphasize that I'll just say the other day somebody literally laughed at me because I told them AOL was a piss-poor ISP. I think there's a lot more common sense and support here than on many other similar forums, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Surprising HWFs is no longer top listing for hardware forums search on google. Could the pages be optimized to help with this?

I don't think I came on here about a problem, I randomly search for "hardware forums" on google and this site looked the best imho.
Yeah this site is great, I've been a member for about 6 months now and I am glad I joined, well done Sniper for setting up such a good site and well done everyone else for making this such a good site! :good:
