How Do I Adapt A Firewire Camera To A Computer With Usb 2.0/3.0?

I bought a firewire IEEE 1394A PCIe card in order to use my firewire scientific analysis camera. Meanwhile I also bought a PC and realized that my PC does not have an extra slot for the PCIe card. Is there is a way out using USB or Firewire to USB adapters?

PC with no free PCI Express or PCI slot? Must be very small one.

I don't think there exists USB to Firewire adapters. Too big technology difference. For example Firewire does not need host device but USB does.
