I have a Mystique 631, with a intel HD front panel. Sound card is the X-Fi XtremeGamer. I plugged in te AC97 cable from the front panel to the osund card, and plug in my earphones. I get sound, but static and other weird noises(i can hear whirring sounds and stuff ). Tried the High Definition Audio cable, still the same thing. About the only thing i have left from the intel HD front panel are some stand alone plugs(1 by 1, not 10 pins) and some plug labeled "1394". What am i supposed to be doing?
The 1394 plug is for firewire. It sounds like you're getting alot of artifacts over your sound. Have you got the most updated drivers (Not windows as this sounds like a stand alone PCI card, you should be able to get them from the manufactorer.) Does your front panel connectors come with the HD audio, the old 97 plugs, and the individuals? If so, make sure that you only have one of them plugged in. Only the HD sound output if you have the output for it (dont do both the hd and 97s.). Also look at your sound card manual and make sure you have the fp connectors set up correctly.
Yes most recent drivers, and i know people who have connected front panel to the same sound card with no problems. Plus i only get the static and other noises if i use the earphones through the front panel, if there was a problem with the drivers or card itself my speakers and earphones plugged into the sound card/s I/O port would have problems. The front panel has HD audio, AC97 and individual plugs. I plugged in only the HD audio plug and i am still getting static and other noises. What is FP connectors? There doesnt seem to be anything in my sound card manual about that.
