How do you "delete a forum"

How do you "delete a forum" Is there a set procedure?

I thought I read somewhere that if there was no action and the forum seemed to be dead then the forum would be deleted (by the hosts?)

I ask because last December I decided I did not want a previous forum that I had (with topbb.phpBB) and so I removed all my information and left it. Today I was tidying some 'saved stuff' and found the link to this forum so clicked on it and found that it was still there - it had not disappeared at all.

Are there set rules to remove a forum or do all hosts have their own rules.

Be glad of a bit of advice please if there is a way to remove it.

Problem solved now as they deleted it almost immediately :good:
