I'm re-designing a template right now for my ebay listings, and for pictures I'm just copying and pasting it from my hard drive, but I realize in order for your pics to appear online, you need the root folder to be from the net I think, unless there is another way So, I'm assuming you have to use an internet server/website to store your pictures, so it would show up on a website ??
Yes, you are correct in thinking that. The image source when dragged from your hard disk would be like so: C:\imagefolder\image.gif When the page is opened, the viewer's browser will look for that same path on the viewers hard disk. So unless that folder and file exist on the viewer's hard disk, in that exact directory and under the same name, nothing will be displayed. So to do this, you can host your images with a company which specialises in doing this. All websites you visit are hosted on servers - the domain then points to these servers. I would recommend searching for some free hosting, or using a photobucket account. ImageShack is good, but I do not believe that you can have an account there, I may be mistaken. When your image is hosted at a site like ImageShack, they give you a direct link to image, which basically displays the image by itself. You would then simply put this link into your ebay page, and anybody who looks at your page will see the image.
You can have an 'account' with Imageshack. It's not really an account though, I signed up, they send you an e-mail with a link, click it and it 'logs you in' every image you upload from then on (without clearing cookies or cache etc I think) is available via a link at the top of the page. For an eBay auction it'd be a good idea to host with someone like Imageshack or Photobucket.
yea, I use imageshack now, how long do the pictures stay there the pictures load pretty slow online linked from Imageshack :S
If you are talking about upload on their website then it depends on the file size and speed of your internet. But if you are talking about loading of picture from their website that also depends on your image size and internet speeed...lol.
Yeah, photobucket often stops images being displayed beause of their bandwidth usage, that kinda sucks when you've actually got to have an account with them in the first place.
