Being unable to start my win7 computer with two identical 8gb ram bars, i took one out memtested the other one and vice versa (in the same slot). One seems to be fine, while the other produces over 20'000 errors in under 5 minutes. Is it safe to say, that that one is definately damaged and i can dump it?

    thanks

Manufacturing defect, some kind of user error (Electrostatic discharge may weaken components) or just bad luck. Memory modules (like other hardware) won't last forever.
