How to?

How do i find all info about my graphics card, eg clock speeds, how many pipelines it has and all the other stuff.

 

Get riva tuner, that unlocks some helpful utilities anyway.

is 11194 good for 3d mark 03 with an X800XT PE?

 

yea 11194 is good mines 11182, bcuz i modded mines

 

but, GTA SA IS STILL giving me a headace, why am i only getting between 20-50fps, it mostly at about 25 fps!!!.
also, it seems like there is a cap on all games, becouse i have noticed that in menus of gta sa and half life 2, they both have bieng capping at 60 fps and not going below 60 fps
is the frame rates in these games good?
deus es: avarage is 60
half life 2: avarage is 60 (it will not go above 60, its like its bieng caped :\
far cry, avrage 40-50 sometimes it gets 60-70, but acts like its capped sometimes :s

And also, is it me or is toms hardware benches not very good?, on ut2k4 i got about 70-86fps most of the time on max settings, now looks at this, on this there testing 6800's and the same card as my card, and looks what they get.

Also on battlefield 2, i put everyhitng to max, and max reseloution (1280*1024) and i got in game, and it just kept locking up and freezing, when it dins lock up it was running fine, but it locks up all the time, so i put it in 1152*864 and it still freezes and locks up, but not as much.

 

Im allso having the same prob with GTA , though when i turn the frame limiter off it runs a bit faster ! As you (willhub) have said in another thread , the graphic setting does nothing for your frame rate , looks the bloody same on all setings bar vhigh ! Havent noticed a cap on Half Life 2 , in the Prison section (if memory serves...) i had it up as far as 60-80 fps going off ! Over 100 with not a lot on the screen ! I'd be more than happy with rates like them !! As long as there above 35-40 (as far as im aware ) everthings hunky dorey !

I know , that Battlefield 2 is a real card killer on max ! Stutering ,freezing ,had all that !! Ive got it on low settings just to get the bleeder to work !!

Doesnt Belarc advisor , bench em all , or anything like that give you the info ? What about your manufacturers site ? My old 5600 had a system tray tool that gave you all that info (leadtek) but ive noticed that ATI cards are a little short on tray tool options etc !

 

hmmm, omg, if a 9800pro could get 60-80fps in gta sa, then what the hell is wrong with my computer
on far cry in some parts when i have on max everyhting inc my max reseloution (1280*1024) i can get up to 100fps in some places, i have managed ot get bf2 to run stable on all max settings exept i need res on 1152*864 .

but on other games like half life 2, and far cry and well all of them, i get this freezing at start of game and all that, but it stops eventually.

its just bf2 at moment and GTA sa!!!!! ahgrrrrr

 

NOOO !! 60-80 on Half life 2 !! Im lucky if i get 35-40 on gta sa !! I WISH !! Believe me theres nothing wrong with yours !!!!! My pro is very unpredictable , lightning on some games , cant get going on others ! The highest res i use is 1028-7..... mainly due to a naff monitor ! Freezing at start may be due to the settings being up at max , try lowering em , mine does that badly (and i mean BADLY) on Far cry till i mess about !! Most games do it on mine when the pixel shaders working over time , freezing at the start etc so it can catch up !!
You could allso make sure your ram is ok ?

 

60-80 on half life 2, is that on 1280*1024 res and all max res inc AA AND AF on MAX?

after a a couple of mins, far cry works brill on max res 1280*1024 and all other setitngs to max, but when i try to change the look of it in settings like errm, cartoon or improved or osmthing, it says its not supported :s.

my ram is ok, 512mb, bieng replaced once

 

1024-768 ! No AA or AF ! Graph and sound settings on max !! Still looks grand ! Can turn AA on for a bit more eye candy but when its going off big time who realy cares !!!!!! Though if i had a card like yours id probably have them all on max !!!

 

i have every game on max, and if i ever play doom 3, that will be going on max everyhting too, with a card like this everyhitng should work ok.

if i overclock a little, it should be as good as X850XT PE, and the 7800gtx is a tottal piece or rubbbish, meh, the worlds most powerfull card, it might be, but the X850XT PE is only 20fps behind the 7800gtx on some benches.

It does say that the game is capped at 30fps !?! Have you had away with the frame limiter ? How you getting your fps count , through omega drivers ?

no, i was using fraps, I am still getting like 30-50 fps in gta sa on LOWEST LOWEST settings and LOWEST LOWEST 16BIT res

now, that tells me thats there is somthing not right, i think i will try reinstalling gta sa.

 

Its not recomended to use 16bit ! The games ment to be in 32 !! With the omega counter going and frame limiter off , High setting ,its bouncing around between 25-50fps !!! Even lowering the draw distance only speeds it up by 2-3fps !!! That graph setting THING is a joke , high theres heat haze , low theres heat haze , whats the point !

 

i did not have frame limiter on, and when its in 16-bit, there is not as much to process, have you seen it at 16-bit, if i had it that low, it should deffo speed it up, i wonder if the instalation configures gta sa for the graphics card installed :\

 

Is there a way in the ATI or omega drivers to turn VSync off?
Turning VSync off will allow your card to output more frames than you monitor will allow!
This may prove to provide more frames or the same result as you've been getting but it's worth a try!

 

yes, there is an option to turn the v-sync off.

 

I would imagine it does configure it to your card ! Its the game thats got the problem with this stupid 30frame limiter ! Rockstar need to sort it , with the power of the cards about (ie YOURS) 30 is ridiculous !! The graphics aint all that if your to be honest anyway !!

Your card runs at 540mhz clock speed with 1.18 ghz ram speed , 16 pipe lines with 6 vertex shaders !!!! Gulp !!!! Id say the core must be well over 800mhz !!!

When i turn the limiter off its like turning the v-sync off ! I notice slight tearing !!!

 

stock speeds are 520mhz and 1.12ghz, those speeds you listed are the x850xt pe, but i can get core clock to 580mhz and memory from 1.12ghz (560mhz) to 585mhz)


i never use that stupid frame limiter, i will try turning the v-sync off.
