HP Compaq R3000 Motherboard Repair - Are these fixable

    My friend asked me to check out their HP Compaq Presario R3000 notebook computer.
    They thought it was a DC Power Jack problem that was all they were having.
    Upon taking completely apart the notebook I found that their are 6 ( transistors ? ) soldered onto the back side of the motherboard where the CPU is mounted on the other side. 3 of these are missing 2 of which I found in the case bottom. Not sure where the 3rd one is. What are these, how do you identify them and can replacements be obtained to re-solder onto the motherboard.
