HP4370 Scanner buttons falling asleep

Hi Guys......

Just got an HP 4370 scanner to replace the old unit I had. It connectes to the PC via usb, so have also got hold of a high speed USB card for the base unit. All works ok, however after 30mins or so the buttons on the front of the scanner fall asleep.

To scan anything I need to disconnect the power and then reconnect the power to kick start the buttons.

Is there a simple fix ??

Do the buttons 'goto sleep' or dies the scanner actually turn itself off?

Try holding down the power button, or just button bashing! [the scanner might get the idear that you want to use it :P)

Also, Try starting the scan from the computer instead of using the buttons, if the scanner is sleeping the it will be woken up!
