I have always used IE and I decided to give firefox a try yesterday, mainly because I liked the idea of extentions. So far it is working great and I wish that I had switched over earlier. I was just wondering if anyone has any recomendations for extentions that I should get.

PS What are live bookmarks and RSS feeds?

Live bookmarks are the same as RSS feeds. They're a useful feature of finding the latest news. Hardware Forums itself has an RSS feed feature. If you look at the right of the address bar you'll see a little icon next to the drop down box button. Go the the hardware forums home page, click this icon and choose where you want to store this live bookmark. I put it in the bookmarks menu, but you can have it on the bookmarks toolbar if you wish.

Once you've added an RSS feed, click it (or hovern over it if you saved it in the menu) and you'll see a list of the latest threads made in the forums. The live bookmarks will update themselves often, but you can manually update them by right clicking>reload.

As for extensions, my favourite one is mouse gestures where you can use functions like close tab, next tab, previous tab, back, forward, refresh. Go to the extensions website and search for mouse gestures. I have mine set so that an up,down gesture reloads the page etc.

    That's a cool tool Addis!

If you've got a gmail account then the gmail notifier is quite useful, I use it and it reloads every minute or so to give me any new e-mails I've got.

I use HTML Validator...which allows yoi to view any errors made in the coding on the site and Ad-block....which does exactly what it says on the tin.

Session Saver and IE View are must haves in my book. Forecast Fox is also great.

Session Saver remembers what you were doing, so if Firefox crashes you can go back to where you were- e-mails you were typing, pages you were viewing, tabs you were viewing- everything. There is an option to start up from previous session everytime, or just when it crashed.

IE view lets you right click a page to view it in IE instead of Firefox.

Forecast Fox gives you the weather in the lower right hand corner.
