Yeah my friend bought a few of these in China and they're fakes lol. Does anyone know what the exact formatted capacity of an 8GB drive is? I need to low-format this drive so I can sell them off as 8GB so they work fine. Basically in windows explorer it shows 32GB but it corrupts after 8GB, so I assume it has an 8GB chip with a hacked controller.
Is this Kingston by any chance? Research suggests its not possible, its the controller that's actually faking the value.
plenty of people have bought the fake Kingston 32GB drives (on ebay), there's no fix for it, that I know of.
