I should know this....

    ... but it has slipped my mind!

    Is ISA 16Bit hardware PnP? I think 8Bit isn't but 16bit is?

    Can someone clarify!

    Depends on the hardware. Some ISA cards are PnP, some aren't. Some have jumpers to set the resources manually which can also be set to a PnP setting.

    So both 8Bit and 16bit ISA cards can be PnP?

    I believe so, yes. But ultimately my answer was that 16-bit ISA could be PnP, but not necessarily. I'm not as certain about 8-bit ISA, I'd have to look it up (don't work with that everyday!).

    I now know the answer! :)

    If you are interested, this is what I have read:
    Most, if not all 8-BIT ISA cards aren't PnP. On the other hand, ISA 16-BIT cards manufactured after 1995 are like to be PnP. This is because Windows 95 was the first PnP compatible OS.
