well, for the past 2 days i have had 512mb ram on my computer, but today i decided to put 1gb back in, so i got the other 512mb of ram, and put it in so it was in dual channel configuration, next thing i knew, is the computer wouldent boot, or post, and no monitor would come on, so i tried dual channel in the other 2 slots, and still no luck, so i decided to try just another 512mb stock, and wahey, i posted, i put both stick of ram back in, but not in dual channel, and it posted, so it seems i cant get dual channel to work anymore:(

any ideas what has gone wrong?

I never knew that actually. I always thought you had to used memory labeled dual channel.

no, as long as your motherboard supports say ddr 400 memory, and has dual channel on the mobo, it will work.

anyway, i got it to work again, i dont know what went wrong.

    here is the ram slots
II XX , obviously for dual channel, i would have to etiher have both sticks in XX or II, instead of putting 1 stick in the left I, i put the stick in the right I, then started it up in single channel, then i put the other stick in the left I, and it started up.

before i also noticed my ram timing were somthing like 2.5, 4, 2, 2 after loading optimized defaults.
