I needed a few more opinions on problem I've been having with Half Life 2 so I decided to register with a certain Half-Life forum (that will go unnamed)...Big mistake, after my experience there I'm glad I decided to register here. For one just about nobody at the forum is helpful, almost everyones posts seem to be highly unorigional and pointless things like a quote and "x 2" as in "I agree", jeeze will it kill them to write one sentence. Not to mention people are generally unpleasant there as well, in the sig testing area people who use word to make their sigs (complete with those green and red lines under their text *snort*) give others comments like "You didn't make that yourself" or just "Too damn huge" and nothing else. Heck they even have a flaming thread where personal attacks and name calling is the entire point. I've made threads that got taken over by angry spammers complaining about each other basically. Here's an example of what happened to my first thread: ... [refering to my origional post]-"yeah, buy it you cheap son-of-a- :swear: !" [refering to my origional post]-"bill wall of text, i reject to read btw sounds noobish..." "Your reply is even more noobish, because it serves no purpose whatsoever except to be unhelpful." "Agreed!" "second" "I third that. Does not how to spell either." "Or how to arrange words in a manner that means anything at all." Etc. You get the idea, and this is only my experience after 2 days, bunch of ticking time bombs there if you ask me. This only increases my admiration for HF, were theres none of that crap, awesome job everyone.
Hehe, totally dude, with posts that short and pointless no wonder everyone has like 2000 posts, people here actually write things that matter, well usually. (speaking of which congrats dude, catching up to Sniper there).
Yea some of the crapper forums have inexperienced members, who unlike people here and at Anandtech just spam crap and don't help.
