I want to install XP Home over my current XP Pro.

Hello.

I've being trying to install Microsoft XP Home over XP Pro.

I'll try to boot it up from CD and it wont let me.

This is because you cant downgrade from XP Pro to XP Home.

Does anyone know of a way i can install XP Home over XP Pro.

XP Home doesn't have certain features, like support for 2-way multiprocessing and more advanced networking, but otherwise, they're the same OS. I'm just trying to fathom why you'd want to go to Home from Pro, because there's no advantage of doing so. They both use the same code, unlike Windows 98 and Windows NT/2k.
The only way you're going to be able to do this is going to be by formatting your hard drive and installing XP Home.

Again, I don't see any advantages of going from Pro to Home.
 
Searched and again searched the net but didnt find the answer for this question:swear: 70% of the people were askning about installing XP Pro over XP Home SP2.

Edit: If you want, you can install your Home Edition twice~!
 
Actually B, and this pains me to say it, XP Pro is a lot better then XP Home Edition. Pro supports group policy and domains.

denic2k6, it is not possible to downgrade. Just boot from the XP home CD and reformat/install. In future, store your personal files on a separate partition so you won't loose your documents whenever you reinstall an operating system
