I have webshots installed so my wallpapers change every hour leaving my desktop icons look ugly. The border color around the icon looks very ugly. is there anyway it could be made transperent.
i think you just need to change the desktop colour, right click desktop, left click "Properties" select the "Desktop" tab and near the bottom right of the window change the colour to anything you like, that should sort it
Right click My computer, go to Properties and click the advanced tab. Then click "Settings" in the "Performance area." Scroll down and see screenshot. From my experience you need the shadows enabled, else the icons have that background.
I know one way how to fix it, but it's not free! However, the free trial may allow you to do it. The program is TuneUp WinStyler and it's part of TuneUp Utilities 2006. You can download it separately though www.tune-up.com Once you've loaded WinStyler, click 'repair icon database' on the left hand side.
