IDE Error - Dell XPS 600

    When my system starts up, I get a prompt to install new hardware. Follow the directions and it fails.

    Looking at device manager there is a red X under the SCSI and RAID Controller section and the name is:

    ADE2UCAN IDE Controller

    I uninstalled the previous entry similar to this one thinking it was not needed. Might have been wrong, but I have no clue what it is.

    Any suggestions or ideas on how to correct it?

    I would get the drivers from here and it should fix your problem:XPS 600 drivers
