IDE in a new computer...

Hey guys, i have recently bought a number of components for quite an extensive upgrade. Almost everything will be upgraded, except the hard drive... I currently have a maxtor 40gb IDE hard drive. The problem being that im pretty sure that the new PSU (Hiper 580W Modular PSU HPU-4B580) will only power SATA hard drives. It says that it powers Supports ATX up to v2.2. But does this mean that it will power an IDE hard drive? If not, then can i get a converter from SATA to IDE as i'm kinda broke at the moment and cant really justify buying a new hard drive if a cheaper converter is available...

Any help would be extremely helpful (this is the last thing i need to sort out before the new computer is ready!!!!!!)
 
New power supplies still have standard molex connectors on them, so you don't need to worry. There's only one optical drive that I know of that is made for SATA connections. Secondly, many people still have older PATA (IDE) drives that work and have decent sizes, not to mention that IDE drives are still being produced. Simply put, it'd be stupid for companies to drop the 4-pin molex connector. It may happen in the future, but for the forseeable future, those connectors will still be around.
