Its that time of year again. The Intel Developer Forum has Otellini announcing the new Intel CPU micro-architecture. 3 new CPU families will be launched to replace the existing families. Server - Woodcrest Desktop - Conroe Mobile - Merom IDF had it that these new chips will give 10 times more performance per watt. Another interesting note is that all these chips will be 64bit enabled but also be fabricated with a 65nm process. They also had pre-production chips of all 3 families running Windows x64, Fedora and Windows Server 2003. Anandtech
