Ok a long time ago i was thinking why don't they make a pci based cpu? would it be usable or just to slow ot make a difference then i found Advantech - Half-size CPU Card, PCI, ISA, PCI Express, SHB, System Host Board, Half-size SHB, Half-size System Host Board i was just wondering what they are? full mini computers ? just cpus? and if cpus are they Linux compatible because i use mostly linux
Looks to me like they're cards designed for some kind of server that can utilize extra processing power via PCI/PCI-E... There was once upon a time when all computer components were on their own card and slotted into a large mobo... Perhaps this is a similar technology? Regards, Mike
yeah, number crunching and data crunching machines. Used for processing lots information only, doing calculations and running simulations, that type of thing
