As most of you now know my video card and apparently a stick of ram I had became defective, for a reason I still don't know. Well anyway I was able to RMA both parts to Newegg and they gave me replacement products without a fuss. So while I'd prefer to have a X800Pro or whatever I wasn't able to exchange for a totally different product. I hooked up my friends monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers he left at my house (he'll use them as soon as we order the remainder of his components) just to test it all out. For a sub $20 keyboard and mouse set the Logitech internet pro or whatever it's called is sweet, the keys feel so great and there's plenty of room. Mouse isn't a slouch either. The X-230 speakers are the bomb too, I so wish I could keep it all. His monitor is okay, but not great. The image quality is for some reason a lot worse than my old dinky 15", I figured that .25 dot pitch was good enough but it all looks a little fuzzy for some reason. Doubt he'll care though, the only thing that gets me is why it makes this snapping noise whenever it's in the BIOS and the screen changes, minor quibbles though. Overall it feels great to be back with it all again, for the past week the Mac has been a buggy cumbersome mess, things only got worse and laggier after installing Tiger. Anyway just thought I'd let you guys know.
