just a heads up that i noticed from karanisloves sig. It seems that imageshack have noticed that alot of people use there service for signature pic's etc (through an automated process) and most likely think that hardwareforums is using there service to hold the site's images (such as the hardwareforums logo). there are 2 temporary solutions that i can think of if you need to see the image 1. in Firefox, type about:config into the address bar and hit enter... put "network.http.sendRefererHeader" into the Filter box on the page which loads and change the value of the preference from 2 to 0 (and then go back to hwf and refresh the page) [certain sites try to protect themselves from hot linking by requiring a referer, so you may have to change this back to 2 to view images on 'certain' other sites] 2. in Firefox, right click on the image and select view image... you will be presented with the same "Hotlinking has been disabled...." but hit refresh and the image you want will load! does anyone know if this can be resolved with imageshack? (perhaps if we all complain at once )... perhaps if hwf offered to have one of the imageshack buttons (HERE) they would allow hotlinking? UPDATE: this is from the imageshack tos anyone mentioned any of the oh-so-offensive words on hardwareforums? (note, i added the numbers and symbols into the words as not to post the offensive phrases myself!)... seems like this could be abused, lets all sign up accounts at toms hardware guide and link to offensive images while mentioning these nasty words (they will be banned, indefinitely!!!! mwhahahahahahaha)

i doubt there deliberately targeting us, just alot of us use there service for sig pics etc so they most likely think that hwf is abusing there service... but perhaps we (the members) are? is it really fair to use imageshack for your sig pic... they make there money off advertising and with hot linking they wont get any chance to advertise anything! hmm.... i hate moral battles
Thats what i always used to think that how they make money? I mean there is no add or nething happening with my signature... No one will gonna right click on the signature and check the website...so howhah:.. But anyways, i dont care as long as my signatures are working if they stop doing it then i will start using HWF for it [ot]I dont change my sigs very often tho...[/ot]
nevermind, what i meant was i was seeing the picture you had designed instead of a picture saying "Hotlinking has been disabled for this domain.... " Its gone back to showing the Hotlinking has been disabled picture though
You might give Photobucket a whirl. They've worked for me for sigs and such. I don't host review images with them, though.
I remember seeing this error sometimes with others pics as aswell sometime ago.. I have changed it to photobucket now as B suggested. I already had a account wif them but i neva used it coz Imageshack is the always first website came into ma mind when ever i needed to host an image :doh: Thanks anyways :beer:
I tried it with Imagehoop once, but I couldn't get the uploaded pics inserted into a message or signature. Maybe because that pic was embedded into their page
I doubt very much that Imageshack would target Hardware forums specifically...or even target signatures generally...more than likely it's trying to crack down on hotlinking large images... your signatures may be an issue only because they are large by forum standards...most forums don't allow the huge signatures like you have here ( they get in the way of reading posts )... to be honest, I find them way too big myself...it's annoying going to read a thread and the signatures are bigger than the posts...whole threads of one line remarks and one huge signature right after another. That's why I block them.

Try OneDump - Free Image Hosting, Audio Hosting and Text Hosting thats much better image host than imageshack!
