Here's something to ponder: If Intel is no longer playing the "MegaHertz game", how will they distinguish themselves from AMD, who's prices are typically much lower? Even currently, most tech-savvy people realize that AMD's bang-for-buck is much better than Intel's. Will this move level the playing field even with the average PC consumer?
Don't think so. Not with the average user anyway. but that depends on wat you mean by the average user. If its non-geeks then they're still going to be more familiar with Intel. Cause of lack of TV advertising from AMD, which is the main reason why not many people know about them. Compared to Intel which advertise with Dell and the server commercials, they don't do it at all. And thats why they'll probably have the small area of market share for the next few years until something significant like Win64 bit comes out.
