    Hi,

i just placed a WLAN-PCI card into the board's PCI-slot the wrong way. When I tried to power up the board, nothing happened. When I noticed my failure and removed the card, still nothing happened. The board doesn't even beep or start its fans, it just stays silent an gives nothing but a black screen. Shortening the power-switch contacts didn't work either.
Is there any hope to revive the board? May a BIOS reset help?

You could try and reset the bios, and the ram to see if that will do anything..
But It will probably won't ,Any time you short anything across then you wil have big problems..

    Hi,

I didn't short (up to the PCI-thing) anything "across" the MoBo, just the two metal pins for turning on the board, as the power switch would do.
    Thanks for your reply.
I guess I will need a new board then. :(

It's not powering up, try another power supply unit. could be the power supply unit not receiving the signal to power on, it's just stuck in standby mode.

So, you don't see any lights or fans starting ? If not,I would try another Power supply.. Or try this, Pull the Main plugin off of the motherboard,Next make sure you are unplugged from the walll. ...Next get a paper clip and bend it into a U-shape. Now put one end on the green wire and one on a black wire..Now plug the cord in and see if your power supply starts up...
