Can anyone recommend a program that is able to report the speed of my Internet connection? Linux or Windows, but i'd prefer Linux

I always use www.pcpitstop.com, have it bookmarked right to the internet speed test page. Only drawback is you have to use I.E. for the ping tester to work; however the download/upload speed test does work in any browser. It definitely isn't as in-depth as what Karanislove suggests but it's very quick and easy if all u want is a quick speed reading and not a mass of analysis
