is gigabyte mb support with p4

    hi,
    i wanted to change my mb to gigabyte p35...and i'm thinking to use back my old processor...which is P4 2.8ghz...but i'm not so sure what socket my processor is....it is a problem for p35 mb with p4 2.8ghz processor..?

    If your current CPU doesn't use the LGA775 socket, then yes it should work. However, if it's Socket 478, then it's impossible.

    You can easily tell what socket you use by opening the system up and looking at the CPU area. If the cooler attatches straight to the motherboard with 4 bolts and uses the circular Intel stock cooler, it's LGA775. If the heatsink is squarish or rectangular and is retained with a couple of arms folded down, it's Socket 478.
