Is it serious?

    I unplugged mygraphics card from its PCI slot while the machine was running, (stupid i know!) and now with it back in place again and i power up the machine Im seeing nothing on the screen! The monitor is going straight to standby. Have i ruined my card?

    I wouldn't be suprised if you have destroyed the card. Does the fan still spin?

    I can only suggest taking the card out, and putting it back in again. Or plugging the card into another PCI slot to see if that works.

    You may have caused some permanent damage to the motherboard :rolleyes:

    I have to ask, why on earth did you unplug the card while the machine was on?

    yeah i think it is serious and you probably really damaged the mother board and possibly the vid card. sorry man

    what you need to do is get another card and try it on the motherboard to see how it all goes.

    1.Try the card in different PCI slots
    2. If it still doesnt work, get a different PCI Gfx card, and try it in different slots
    3. If you still don't get display, your mobo and/or gfx card are probably pooched.

    This may sound a bit harsh, but all I can say is, I hope you learned your lesson.
