Is the GeForce 6200 worth £17?

I have a second chance offer (eBay) on a new PNY GeForce 6200 256MB.
Is it worth it? Nevr had nVidia before so do not really want to throw away money on a potential dud.....

 

As long as it's new, it's about the cheapest you'll find.

I understand it is very much an entry level card which can handle most games but at low to lowest settings. Is that a fair comment? I have struggled to find any decent reviews about it...

Oh, and apparently it is new... or so the seller says....

How does it fair against the FX5500? They are quite popular on eBay?

 

I think it's a lot better than the 5500, more on par with the 5900ish. But find benchmarks to check.

The card has been purchased and time will tell.... as I mentioned, I have very limited experience with graphic cards in general and was naturally assuming that the higher the number the better....

Hopefully, I will now be able to have better graphics support for when I set-up my Linux box......
