My radeon 8500 has a DVI port, and it says "DVI" by it on the little metal plate. But it looks slightly different compared to the port on my new LCD screen. On the radeon, there's this extra square with 4 holes next to the larger triangle with lots of holes. On the "DVI-D" port on my monitor, that separate, extra square doesn't exist. So what's the deal? Is it gonna work? Why are they different? I'm sure I'm just being stupid but I'm afraid to try it because I'm afraid I'll kill the monitor or something if the 2 ports aren't meant for each other lol

Holy shit ... lol I just noticed that in my first post i said "triangle" where I meant to say "rectangle"  :stars:
... that is, I was supposed to say "next to the larger rectangle with lots of holes"

    but okay I'll try it.
