I just built a new computer for a m8 and used a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ in it.
In the bios it says the frequency is at 1838mzh.
Now i know AMD chips run at lower clock speeds than intel chips and i know this chip isnt supposed to run at 3000mhz as this is an aid for comparison.

I have an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ in my own machine which runs at 2160mhz so i was wondering if the 64 one above should be higher.
Also the 64 chip is running at a very low temp of 21 celcius at idle with stock heatsink. This makes me suspect the frequency is too low.
