Just for kicks i overclocked my MSI Geforce fx5950 to 550/1020 and ran 3dmark03..my score was 4276 and i didn't put any fancy features on. I ran the test at the default. Is this a good score or did i screw up? Any info would help. thx :good: My pc. pentium 4 @3.0ghz 1024mb ram msi geforce fx 5950 asus p4p8x mobo
No something's wrong here I think. You should get very close to 6k with that card. Make sure AA and AF are off and run the test again. I get 5k with my 9800 Pro at stock speed, and considering nvidia scores good in benchmarks, I think you should get more than me.
Okay new score, should it be more? Okay i set the direct 3d settings to performance and set vsync to auto. I also made sure AA and anistropic was off and not on app controlled. i got a score of 6103 (3dmark03). Should it be more? or is this good, (by the way its not overclocked. its at the stock 450/950).... Five minute later....Overclcoked to 500/1020 and got a score of 6739. I don't know what any of this means. But i know that my games run fast and nice. what exactly does this benchmark mean? __________ My pc. pentium 4 @3.0ghz 1024mb ram msi geforce fx 5950 ultra 256mb. asus p4p8x mobo.
It's only a way to compare your card to another one. Those scores are good but try running the benchmark with balanced settings (which are the default settings)
I think I am a little confused... did you say you got 5k as in 5000 with your 9800 pro?! Because I score 6833 with my Powercolor Radeon 9000... at stock speeds. Did you just make a typo...?
Ooooo, heh I knew I had to be missing something... thanks for clearing that up for my non-observant-self.. ~Temporal~
