yup just ordered my second 7950 GX2, also ordered the FSB booster to handle the power, since i had just got a new PSU and didn't want to get another one again. So SWEET, my i can really say that my computer eats little children from Wisconsin and runs off the incense of homeless children.
You just bought another one.... when DX10 is around the corner, you should of stuck one 1 7950GX2, its not like it aint powerfull enough loool.
dude, i know, i was thinking and everything, do i want to just get an 8800, then i was like, no, i already made my decision awhile ago to go quad sli, i mean new board and everything, so i'm going quad sli. No regrets
Ah, one 8800GTX would of cost less, better performance, its a good job you have plenty of money to upgrade in like 5 months. I am just saying, i aint meaning to piss you off.
better performance when and for what. On current game, the quad sli in most cases beats the 8 series cards, for dx10 obviously thats the 8 series cards. Also i don't really plan to go to vista any time soon, at all. Also getting an 8800 i would have to go with the GTX and then i would need a $200 power supply, and wouldn't be a bad idea to get a better processor as well, if i really wanted to see the performance. That and next time around, or with this new series of cards i'm going ATI, so that will require a board upgrade as well.
If you current PSU can hold 2 7950GX2's, and also is quad SLi, it will run an 8800GTX good. Also from benchmarks i seen, in current games an 8800GTX beats 7950GX2 Quad SLi apparently sometimes by double., infact the quad SLi aint much more performance than an 8800GTS, still Quad SLi is preety good though with thouse cards. Have you actualy got 4 cards tho? some people have actually 4 cards that are quad sli, even though each card has 2 cores.
That's what a 7950GX2 is. The main difference between it and earlier custom solutions is that this is nVidia sanctioned and has an SLI switch on each card (for both GPU's) in addition to the SLI fingers for connectiong to a second unit.
