Ok I went to look at the available add-ons for firefox, and, more specifically, I was looking at the page listing the common plugins. Now I know not all plugins are good. It lists latest version adobe acrobat reader and quicktime 7, for instance, and we have far better alternatives than adobe, and qt7 really really sucks.

So my question is, do u guys recommend the latest versions of java, flashplayer and shockwave? That is, java 5.0, flash player 8, and shockwave 10. When I access my current Java "program" from control panel, it says I have version 1.5. Am I like really, really outdated if the current one is 5.0 lol?? And btw, what the heck is shockwave for anyway? I don't remember needing that plugin anywhere other than to play online games on shockwave.com or some partner site.

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't have the latest plugins for flash and java. Others are your choice.
