dont know if this possible or not but if you have two wireless network adapters in one laptop is it then possible to connect to two different wireless networks simultaneously?

    TIA

Yeah it is probably possible, assuming that the connections were set up properly. I mean I've been on a LAN and a wireless connection at the same time before, so it shouldn't make much difference.

Do you want to pull bandwidth from both adapters? If so, you'll need to set up TCP/IP Load balancing. I'm not sure how this applies to XP, but this is how you do it in Windows 2000 (which is the same OS):

    1. Click Network and Dial-up Connections.
    2. Right-click the Local Area Connection on which Network Load Balancing is installed, and then click Properties.
    3. In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
    4. In IP address, enter the address that you entered as the "Primary IP address" in the Network Load Balancing Properties dialog box under Cluster parameters. If the correct address is already present, do not change the address.

NOTE: You can also enter the dedicated IP address (that corresponds to the "Dedicated IP address" that you entered in the Network Load Balancing Properties dialog box under Host parameters) in this space, and then wait to enter the primary IP address of the cluster in the Advanced TCP/IP Settings dialog box.
    5. In Subnet Mask, enter the subnet mask and the default gateway information for your TCP/IP network.
    6. If you need to configure additional virtual IP addresses for your cluster (for example, if you are running a multihomed Web server), click Advanced, and then click Add. Then, you can specify additional virtual IP addresses for this network adapter and provide other necessary information.

    More info from MS
