As I noticed my case temps match my load temps I noticed I need to up my cooling a bit, everything is stock, I only have 1 80mm front intake now, and 1 120mm outtake as well as my PSU exhaust. idle: 34-42 load: 37-45 These are excellent temps for a stock setup, but it kind of worries me, as well as holds me back in the future from overclocking anything. My CPU cooler stopped working and I got a refund, and now I'm running on a stock HSF for my cpu This is what I plan to do, not only to make my case cool, but ironically... HOT haha Front Intake: 2x 80mm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835150037 Rear Exhaust: 1x120mm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811999127 Over these fans also I'll put filtering so I don't get dust 2x80mm 1x120mm blk http://xoxide.com/lascutfangri.html CPU: 1x80mm with copper HS (+Arctic Silver 5) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16835106036 Anything else I can do? I don't mind the noise as long as its not like a vaccum or sounds like I have 2 tornadoes on a big a*s HS ... (pauses, then laughs) I picked the fans that are "okay noise qualified" for me but have high CFM rates, anything else I can replace, or any tips would be appreciated.
Ok the only thing I would do is take the filters off the 80 mm fans. This will make it louder while decreasing airflow. Personally I would invest in compressed air. I resent that.
haha i did direct that, and to be perfectly trueful I would, but then my mom would throw it out the window probably haha yeah I might not take the filters, would lower the costs too
Yea, I really don't see the point in lowering your airflow when you can just spray compressed air into it once a month.
I'm not a big fan of zalman's CPU heatsinks. I just haven't seen much performance come out of them. Sure they're quiet, but when your CPU is melting down your motherboard that won't help you much http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106036 "It has helped me overclock my 3500 venice to 2.7 ghz and I'm only in the high 40's when under load." -eskimob O_O
thanks ninja, I'll add that on, i hope the guy commenting on his 3700sD being 35 degrees while gaming wasen't lying, yeah I'm gonna overclock in a year, I want the warranty to expire before I overclock, and I'm hoping to get it up from 2.2 to 2.6 at least
same heatsink big B has I think, you should ask how it's working out for him IF HE EVER GETS BACK FULLY
