okay... so i was on my BIOS settings (intel) i tweaked some thingies there, then something went wrong... i changed a setting... since then. everytime i open my pc... i only see some colored figures that i REALL dont know what... so what i did is i checked my motherboard... then i removed the button battery attached... then i placed it back (to restore settings) so it did... but then... my pc asked for a boot media... i tried to choose my hard drive as my primary boot media.. but my pc only sees my CD-rom, My Disk drive... and nothing else... i can still use my pc now because i exchanged my cd-rom with my hard drive port... so my pc can't see my cd rom now... What do you think should i do??? ( sorry the explaination im only 15 ) :ff:
Instead of re-inserting the Battery, this time, reset the CMOS using the jumpers on the motherboard, then in the BIOS, press F5 to reset to failsafe defaults. See what happens.
Abbreviation of complementary metal oxide semiconductor. Pronounced see-moss. A part of the motherboard that maintains system variables in static RAM. It also supplies a real-time clock that keeps track of the date, day and time. CMOS Setup is typically accessible by entering a specific sequence of keystrokes during the POST at system start-up (usually the DEL key). The jumper will look like This. It is usually located near the battery and will be marked: CMOS_CLEAR, BIOS_CLEAR or something similar. Your motherboard manual, assuming you have one, will tell you where it's located and how to reset it properly.
