I've been using KDE 4.1 for a few days now and if you havent tried KDE since 4.0 then you should really give this a go. KDE 4.0 was awful in terms of usability. The technological foundations were there but many things were incomplete and should really have been in alpha rather than a full release. 4.1 though has been through some radical changes which I can't explain, only you need to try it yourself. I had a bit of trouble installing it via apt on my Ubuntu Hardy system (package manager started complaining about broken dependencies and errors) but eventually got it working. Of course, there's still a lot of work to be done. Some parts are in need of improvement but on the whole it is now a fully usable desktop. Plasma is really coming into its own.
