I was very bored today. So I fired up VMware workstation and I started killing windows xp in it. You can see it . The beginning is not that interesting, but then it gets very nice.
ownage Did you get fed up with being told you cant do this, that or the other? try running explorer with system privileges, the windows equivalent of root! bring up a console and enter the command Code: at TIME /interactive cmd.exe replace TIME with a 24 hour time one minute later than the current time (ie 20:00 for 8 o' clock) and wait for the time to change... and hey presto, a console pops up that has system privileges! now kill explorer (you can do that from the task list) and the restart it from the console (just type explorer), after that click start and notice the user has changed to "SYSTEM" how much damage can you do with that? well... im not sure, mind finding out?
now try removing that bloody windows directory, it takes up far to much space and your VM will be alot more secure and have more space available without those files! i wonder if you can remove ANYTHING with system rights...
That command didnt do anything on my computer.......I am in my office and I run that command on my workstation which has WinXP and connected to a server.....when i run this command, cmd says added Step 1 (smthig like that, cant remember xactly but nothing happens after that!)
If I try to remove the windows folder, it says that the folder is required for windows to run properly. but i can however delete the contents of the windows folder.
lol, what happens when you do? this means there is an even higher level of rights on windoze... as you only get access denied with root if the target is in use (thats all ive seen happen anyway)
now here's an idea for a game... create a script which randomly deletes files, and see how much you can get done before windows BSOD's! EDIT: I'm not sure if the script is needed to play the game
I've noticed that if I remove some entries from the regsitry, then if I double click a folder (like my computer or my network places) the screen Map Network drive appears. . Any ideas how to make this kind of script?
If I want to delete the windows-folder, then I don't get that unfriendly message with the red cross, but just an information screen. The same that you have if you want to delete the folder Startup the programs list:
Haha...I think its another good way to learn about windows.... Delete important files and then see wat happens...!
