I dont think so that beer has done any kind of threat to the HDD, RAM and processor coz they are all at the bottom side of it. But for the MOBO, thats the only thing needs to be tested.
(Laptop must be feeling hangover after drinking beer first time:beer:, so just wait until it gets ready :D)

the best bet is to take it into a computer shop and look at its innards to see what needs to be replaed. Its alot cheaper than buying a new laptop.

its only the sugar in the beer that the laptop doesn't like, take everything apart and clean all the stickiness off, or wash part under the tap, then allow the separated parts to dry out for about 4 weeks, then clean again with Isopropel, and leave for a couple of hours (until you are sure its evaporated) then reassemble, and hopfully it will work, be careful with static though

Edit: i'm good at having bit left over when reassembling stuff, if it works without whatever you forgot to put in, it obviously didn't need it, LOL :p

P.S. i also now make notes while dissmanteling, cos remembering every single thing you did is dificult

Tools: screwdriver, cotton buds, and some low alcohol based solution to get rid of the stickiness. i spilt orange juice on top of my pc and it dropped nicely into the psu many moons ago.
Thank heavens it wasn't the whole thing.
    Comp still worked afterwards.

Thats the only thing with having snacks at the pc. you end up with stuff all over everything.
