Hello. I have a Toshiba laptop and it's password locked and i forgot the pass lol. I tried may different words and nothing worked. I wanted to know it there was anyone here that can help me. Is there anyway to bypass so I can change it, disable it, or anything else without having to reboot it? Thank you.
Moved to the correct forum Regarding the password, you need to open up the laptop and remove the CMOS battery for about 5 minutes. The CMOS battery looks like a normal rounded watch battery
Thank you. Um, this is my first laptop lol so do you think you can tell me where it would be?? I can post a pic of the bottom of my laptop if you would like.
Best thing for you to do would be to look in the instruction manual. If you don't have one, check out the manufacturer's website as they usually make copies available for free, online
Ok, i found the site and the user guide. I just can not find any information about taking it apart nor about the CMOS.
hang on mega, herbjr doesn´t state that the BIOS password is required herbjr exactly which password is required, so its not a boot up password then, if the password is related to an application or program (e.g. Winzip) what is the application or program
Well when i first turn it on, it shows the title screen (computer model ect...) and then it askes for a password BEFORE windows is start. Right after it shows 'TOSHIBA' the next screen shows 'Password:_'. I went on a different forum and they said I wouldn't be able to do this. Am not sure what to believe. I think it is the BIOS. Am not to sure, I don't know to much about computers lol. I know how to use them and how to create websites.
yeah, thats definatly the BIOS / CMOS password you require, sorry mega one way is: as mega was saying, on the underside of the laptop will be small cover (the cover may be held in place by a screw, remove this screw and remove the small panel, under the panel will be a battery (approximatly the same size as a 50p piece) remove or unplug the battery for about 10 - 15 seconds, then place it back then reconnect it and replace panel laptop will turn on fine now, but youĺl have to set the date & time and you may need to so into the BIOS to alter a few things but see if it boots first
Ok thank you alot. Do you have msn??? I want to be able to contact you insteatly because this is my first laptop and i have been dying for one and i really dont wanna f*** this one up lmao.
basically theres no MSN for Madriva, but i think i´ve configured kopete to access MSN, try it: [email protected], just send as you normally would
1. Dave is short for David. 2. I tried it on my own and messed up really bad. I mistakenly poped out my keyboard thinking it was like snapable lol. I really wanted a laptop and when i realized i broke the keyboard, i start crying and hitting my self for being so stupid :'(. I guess i just love my computers that much . But I talked to a guy I know and he said he could fix it for me and take out the CMOS battary while he's at it. So thinks alot for the help guys. 3. I don't know as much about computers as I would like to. I want to learn hacking (which i heard is just very good knownledge if computers. How they work and how to find information when need, not to steal info and mess up ppl computers). I want to learn as much as computers as I can. Bad thing is that i hate reading books lol. Any recommendations??? I really like computers but have not much knownledge about how they run and all. I wish to own my own business which will be based around computers so i would like to start learning now. Basicly, I want to be your normal computer geek . Thanks agian and sorry for going off topic. Just wanted to get that out to see if someone could help me.
