Laptop screen not working, help!!

Can anyone help? I recently replaced an SXGA screen in a Dell Inspiron 8200 with a UXGA screen. I did a fresh installation of Windows XP and it ran through the installation fine but when it had finished and rebooted it will not display anything! I tried booting in VGA mode and it displays fine albeit in a tiny box in the middle of the screen, but it will not display in full screen. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Incompatible screen? Graphics card? BIOS option? Please help as the laptop is my mother-in-laws!

Mother in law? Ok guys come on he needs help on this one!
I wasn't sure you could replace screens on laptops so I'm probably not much use here.
Try booting windows in safe mode and installing the graphics drivers for your laptop.
 
Not much help here really but I sorted the problem anyhow. Just needed to update the graphics card BIOS.
