hi i'm looking to buy some speakers for laptop for under $100. $60-80 would be a good range. anyway i want a 3pc setup with a small sub. the logitech z2300 have received really good reviews, but I think the sub will be too large. i was thinking about the Altec Lansing VS2421 or Logitech 980-000023 S220 instead because they appear to have a smaller sub.
Looking for recommendations or comments because I'm a first time buyer. THis is for mp3 music. Ability to play super loud isn't a huge priority.

Given the choice I would go with Aego M (not sure how big the sub is though) but as you mentioned z2300 has very good reviews, why not go to your local shop to see how they would look before deciding.

From the options you've given I'd go with Logitech 980-000023 S220.

Agreed. The Acoustic Energy Aego M are very good speakers. You might also consider Roth Audioblob2. They are going for £50 these days, from £150 RRP
