Hi,
I have a eMachines M6805 laptop, which features "ATI® Mobility RADEON™ 9600 with 64MB Video RAM" video card. Some laptop specifications can be found here.
Anyway, after an airplane trip, the laptop is experiencing a strange display problem. Pictures say it all.
Do you have any idea what it could be? Is there a common cause for this kind of a problem? The video card appears to be embedded on the mother board, so I can't assume it is displaced in the socket, as there is no socket. Maybe it was damaged? Could a non-working video card fan cause this?
If I have to change the video card, I would rather buy a new laptop, as the video card alone is not being sold separately. I would have to buy the whole mother board, which is about $200 I think.
I am not sure if this helps, but this laptop tended to overheat. So, any comments are welcome. Thanks!
