    It is real good,I have been using it for Quite sometime now and it passed the shields up test from Gibson's Research... It is lite and seems to be very
    trouble free.. Unlike many others.::cool:

    Thanks for the reply.
    Ive been thinking about changing from McAfee because it takes so long to start up. I find updating it a bitch too, but thats more firefoxes fault. Its fine with IE.

    If you are running XP,then check into this new firewall called comodo ,
    I am testing it right now and it is real good. I just tested it at Gibson research, Using shields up test and it passed.. Now this firewall is a little better than
    lavasoft, but Lavasoft is still a good firewall.. I am a beta tester for all kinds of
    firewalls/ anti Viruses ... So if you need to know anything about one of these,Then I can probably help you..

    I've never used Lavasoft Firewall because it's not free :D

    Comodo is OK, it's got a nicely polished interface. But I found it quite awkward to use and it took me several attemps to configure some proper permissions...

    The best Firewall on Windows that I have used is Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall. It's very straight forward to use and allows you to really control what can and can't access your computer. The only downside was that it could be a little unstable at times, ie not always starting with Windows. But I don't know whether that problem was specific to my machine or not.

    Well , Megamaced : would you like to try lavasoft ? I can let you for free.
    I just finished up testing the new comodo,and I must say that the older version
    is beter. With this new version it would not startup right. Now Kerio has been around a long time,I have there very first version,They make a real good firewall as well, but some of there versions are Quite buggy. There first version 2.1.4
    was real good,In fact it is the same firewall as Tiny firewall, Tiny and kerio back then was the same,,, Anyway I like Sygate as well it is one of the best and most stable firewalls made. I would just use version 5.5 standard or pro version.
    You just have to get it when it was 100% Sygate, and not the version they use now,since they where bought out.. Anyway send me a private email if you what to try Lavasoft....
