I was wondering if anyone has ever sent the wrong part back to Lenovo (or any manufacture) for an RMA without issues/questions. My issue is that we have a corrupt HD – I have already tried everything on the face of the planet to recover it but no luck (drive is clicking so it’s gone – yes I also tried the freezer trick). So I called Lenovo to get an RMA. However, I need to send back the broken HD when I get the new drive from Lenovo. We don’t want to send this drive in as the person who it belongs to wants to take it in for professional recovery. So I was thinking to just send another drive back but I don’t have another 350GB drive to send. If I send a 100GB drive or lower would they notice? Had anyone tried this?
