Lenovo Think Vantage Security Issue

proper job

Geek Trainee
Hardware lenovo X41
OS XP professional

Machine left running without power lead in, shut down (obviously). when restarted this am user profile was inactive and could only be switched on by administrator. They changed password and over wrote password to secure drive from think vantage. I've tried every password I can think of and the disk won't mount. Anyway of remounting without password? Every time I fail it locks me out for longer, I am getting very irritated.

I should have written the password down but of course that is against the rules..................

Thanks

if i understand correctly, you need to reset the admin password, is that correct ?

BTW: boot in safe mode with XP and you should be able to reset the password

So u r a user on a computer and admin has changed the password... In that case u can contact ur admin n he/she will provide u the new one...or will tell u ur original password!

just for further clarification, I can log on as normal but the think vantage password for the secure drive has NOT been changed and I've forgotten it. Until this issue with the user disappearing I was logging in using user the finger print reader and so forgot the password. once I log on I get the connect to secure drive prompt for the forgotten password. This is the one I need to get around

thanks for your help so far
