LGA775+S939: Together at last

    I swear, I'm not making this up. Hexus has some pics of ECS PF88 that you can run either an LGA775 or Socket 939 CPU in.

    The mainboard has 4 slots for DDR2 667, a 1066FSB, SATA2, GigaLAN and 1394a Firewire. When in place, the SiS965 Southbridge is shared with the converter card which is based around AMD socket 939. The card has it’s own dedicated SiS756 Northbridge, 2 slots of DDR400, power management circuits and a FSB2000T. These are all needed to run the AMD K8 technology.

    It's certainly unique. Okay, maybe "purple freak of nature" is a better description, but see for yourself.

    It'll be interesting as those who own or purchase this board will have to choose one or the other, AMD or Intel.

    Also if boards like this become popular this is seriously going to give Intel & AMD a kick up the arse in terms of competition.
