I am having a terrible networking issue. Here is the situation:

There are three computers currently. One is upstairs and two in the basement. The one upstairs is connected to a cable modem, and is getting excellent speeds.. pushing the 3mb mark. We have a cable plugged into his Linksys router, which goes downstairs and plugs into our Linksys hub and we have our two plugs coming out of that. The problem is that our speeds are just terrible. We are getting 124 down and 24 up, which is unacceptable, especially when trying to play WoW.

I connected the wire coming down into the basement directly into my computer and it is getting the same speeds as the one from upstairs, therefore it must be the hub that is downstairs causing all the slowdown.

The hub we have is a 5-port Linksys NH105, but the Linksys site is all fucked up right now so I can't get any help. If any of you know how to fix this problem, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

did you try connecting ur comp to the hub and left the third unplugged? it could be the third comp causing the slowdown or just simply all three is using the connection at once!
