Here is the Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols op-ed piece on the latest CNR developments. He discusses how the new CNR will make proprietary drivers and software more easily available. Additionally he touches on the LSB. That must be a good thing. I like the idea. I also like that the CNR 'warehouse' has user ratings of software. While this may be useless to those that have used linux and open source for some time, it is important to those new to it and not familiar with the software. Any other thoughts/opinions?
I think its a good idea. I know we should be trying to develop open source drivers for as much hardware as we can, the ones that we can't we should make it easy to install, e.g. nvidia/ati graphics drivers.
